Thai Massage is a mutual practice between two people, which is performed on the floor to provide stability and a wide range of movements. The recipients body is treated with firm rhythmic pressure mainly by the hands of the massage practitioner, whose feet and legs may be used to fixate the recipients body in a steady position. It is a practice in which the giver uses the principles of traditional health systems such as Chinese medicine, Ayurveda and Yoga.
At SunYogaMoon we put tremendous emphasis on the practice of Yoga, particularly focusing on alignment and balance, always in favor of creating space in the body. The givers daily yoga practice and connection to his own physical structure is as important as the knowledge of the massage technicalities, when it comes to working with another body. Giving a Thai massage is a spiritual practice and a privilege, and when performed with kind, compassionate intention it brings about a connectedness in which the participants consciousness is raised to a higher level. Together the giver and the receiver are gaining a deeper level of awareness, the mind calms down, a sense of balance is found and through peace and harmony, health and wellbeing is established.
At SunYogaMoon we want to give the opportunity to study the principles of Thai massage in a course consisting of 36 hours. The participant will study a therapeutic system which allows for a passive relaxation. It is very well suited for people who have absolutely no experience with giving massage, as well as for those who are already knowledgeable or even regularly working in that field. What you will learn can be use to work with professionally or simply to practice between your closest friends and family.
The course consists of 6 days, 6 hrs daily and includes 1 hour of yoga in the morning. This massage is done on a mat on the floor and in comfortable clothes, both of which allow a wide range of movement and flexibility. It is a massage without oils or cream.
Schedule: Yoga from 9:00 to 10:00, Massage practice from 10:00 to 12:00 and again Massage practice from 15:00 to 18:00
